Perhaps this is just me putting a negative spin on things, once again. But I can’t help but feel that fun things in life almost always come at cost, mostly, stress.
Very much inspired by August, the holiday spirit in the air. It had me thinking, or rather, living myself. The excitement of a vacation, getting away, the relaxation – it’s all fun, right? Wrong (well, okay it’s right, it is all fun, but just go with the flow and let me make my point…). It all comes with so much stress, it’s probably why you need to relaxation at the end!
The main stress, in my opinion; the packing. It’s always that little bit worse when travelling abroad too! A UK holiday (or rather, a holiday within the same country that can be driven to) has that little bit of ‘ease’ with it, in the aspect you’re not too restricted to timings, for one and then there’s the baggage allowance. It’s a more a “Can I squeeze it in the car? Yep. I’ll take it”, or a “I’ll buy that from the supermarket there, if I need it” No, not when travelling elsewhere. It’s the “Is this too heavy?”, “Will I need this?” “Does that take too much room?” “Can I fit that in my bag along with other stuff”, “Will I need that on the plane?”, so on and so forth… Or perhaps I’ve overstating it, the point still stands though – It requires, well, a lot more thought!
Of course, I’m sure it all pays off in the end. Once you’ve that bit out the way, a few hours on a plane – relaxation. Until you have to squeeze everything and more, back into the bags you forced full travelling there with…
Still, everything comes at it’s price and stress is a small one to pay for this.
