Please note, although these instructions are specific to my application (itsdaniel0.com), they will work for most applications. Directions correct as of 8^th May, 2011.

I noticed that it appears once you’ve clicked “Sign In With Facebook” to comment, you’re permanently logged in. This might cause issues for people who only want to comment once, or would rather sign in with their Twitter account instead, so today I’m showing you step-by-step how you can remove the application through a series of screenshots.

To begin the process, you need to choose “Account” from the drop-down menu in the top right and select “Privacy Settings”. From here, you navigate to the bottom left of your screen where you should see a small text box which says “Applications and Websites”, from here, you select “Edit your settings”.

On this page you’re prompted with a select of Facebook Applications which you’ve used or authorised over time, displaying the applications with the most recent activity, or most recent access to your account at the top, which means the following screenshot may look slightly different to your screen, but the process is still the same.

Once you’ve found my Facebook Application (itsdaniel0.com) – It’s highlighted in the light blue on my screenshot – you need to click “Edit settings”, which will expand the application box, displaying further information about the application (what it can access, last data access etc.). In the top right hand corner of this new access box you’ll see a small hyperlink which says “Remove app”, you’ll need to click this.

Once clicked you’ll be prompted with a Facebook style dialogue box
which – to summarise – says “Are you sure you want to remove this app?” Select the “Remove” button, and there you have it, you have successfully removed the application and can comment anonymously or via your Twitter account.
